The Acuitas Conversation - Tailored Advertising: Trust and Responsibility in the Digital Era

The Acuitas Conversation - Tailored Advertising: Trust and Responsibility in the Digital Era

Acuitas Communications’ inaugural networking event will take place in Brussels on Thursday 5 March 2020, with the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA).

Acuitas are a leading strategic communications agency specialising in the provision of corporate communications and public affairs services through its Brussels office, and corporate advisory work in its London office.

The guest speaker at its first evening event will be Robin de Wouters, Communications Coordinator at the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA). Robin is an experienced communications professional with over a decade of experience advising businesses, organisations and public bodies on external positioning and reputation management. Before joining EDAA, he previously worked for EuroMed Rights; the ONE Campaign; the 2012 Obama re-election campaign; and for the United Nations.

EDAA’s principal purpose is to provide the ‘AdChoices Icon’ [    ] to companies involved in data-driven advertising. This interactive link is a crucial tool that allows consumers to access information related to their online ad-choices and to turn off tailored ads.

On 5 March, Robin will present the tools that can be used to increase consumers’ awareness over how their data is used in digital advertising. This will include:

  • how tailored digital ads work overall;

  • how consumers receive ads based on their social, cultural, commercial, and political behaviour online;

  • why consumer education is essential to protect consumers in the digital era; and

  • how European citizens perceive digital advertising (supported by EDAA’s latest consumer research).

In order to confirm the participation to this event, please RSVP by emailing federico.lazzari@acuitascomms.com or thomas.tessier@acuitascomms.com

Doors will open at 18:15, and drinks and appetizers will be served. The event will begin at 18:45, consisting of a short address and a Q&A session, before concluding promptly at 19:30.
